Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about solar for manufactured and mobile homes, no credit check, no money down.

The offer

What does it cost up front?

Nothing. No down payment, no equipment cost, no installation charge. Solnr owns the system and covers the full cost of installation.

Is this a loan or a lease?

Neither. This is a power purchase agreement. You pay for the power the system produces, at a rate locked in below your current utility rate, not for the equipment itself.

How much could I save?

Typical savings run around thirty percent off the monthly bill from day one, though your exact number depends on your usage and your roof. We show you the real figures before you sign anything.

What if the system isn't producing power?

You don't pay. If there's no production, there's no charge. That's the core of how a power purchase agreement works. Solnr also provides repair and maintenance services, so a production issue gets fixed rather than left as a permanent hit to your savings.

Credit and eligibility

Do I need good credit?

No. There is no credit check at any point in this process, for any homeowner, in any park.

Why don't you check credit?

Conventional solar financing screens out a large share of manufactured home residents before a conversation even starts. We built our process specifically to not do that.

What if I rent my lot but own my home?

That's the standard arrangement in most manufactured home communities, and it's what Solnr is built around.

Master metered and directly metered parks

What's the difference?

In a master metered park, the park owner holds one utility meter for the whole property and bills residents through internal submeters. In a directly metered park, each home has its own utility account, the same as a standard house.

How do I know which one applies to me?

If your power bill comes from your park's office instead of the utility company directly, you're likely in a master metered park. If it comes straight from the utility, you're directly metered.

Does solar work in master metered parks?

Yes. It is exactly the situation Solnr specializes in, and a large part of why we exist.

Do I need my park's permission?

In a master metered park, park cooperation is part of how the installation works, and we coordinate that directly. In a directly metered park, California's Senate Bill 1190 protects your right to install without unfair interference from park management.

Maintenance and what happens over time

Who handles maintenance?

Solnr does, for the full term. Maintenance, monitoring, repairs, parts, and insurance are all covered. You never receive a maintenance bill.

What if my roof needs replacing?

Roofing work related to the install is warranted, and if your roof needs full replacement, panel removal and reinstallation is a flat fee already written into your agreement.

What happens at the end of the agreement?

You choose: buy the system for a small amount, renew the agreement, or have it removed with your roof restored at no cost.

Selling your home

What happens if I sell?

The agreement transfers to your buyer without a credit check, and Solnr handles the paperwork and any coordination your park requires.

Timeline

How long does the whole process take?

Most homes go from approval to a working, fully permitted system in three to four weeks.

What do I need to do during that time?

Very little. We handle permitting, inspections, and any required park coordination.
